1. Ensure that all parts are glued together before painting. You may also add a woodgrain texture to the door before proceeding. |
2. Apply the textured paint (or Sand-PVA mixture) only to those parts of the model that are meant to be sandstone then allow to dry. Avoid painting the wooden door, stairs and extrusions. |
3. Paint over textured surface with Bubonic Brown and wooden areas with Bestial Brown. |

5. Lightly apply broad highlight over all edges with Snakebite Leather.
6. Lightly paint and dab Snakebite Leather around lower edges for weathered effect.

7. Apply a medium drybrush of Bleached Bone to simulate a worn pathway.
8. Apply a very light dabbing of Bleached Bone to the stairs before highlighting their edges.
9. Lightly drybrush the door with Bleached Bone.

10. To build a garrison, use scissors to cut icypole sticks into spikes approximately 2-2.5cm long and glue to top edge with PVA. |
11. Allow to dry. |
12. Paint the spikes Bestial Brown. |
13. Apply a medium drybrush of Snakebite Leather to the spikes followed by a light drybrush of Bleached Bone concentrated more around the edges.
14. Add additional effects such as rivets and door handle.
