City Ruin Corner

Painting the City ruin corner

There are a number of ways that you can paint your model. This guide shows you the techniques that we used to paint the City ruin corner.

These are the items you will need:

  • DULUX SAMPLE POTS: You can obtain these from most hardware stores. These are the Dulux colors that were used: Drive Time, Guild Grey and Simone Well. Throughout these instructions, we will refer to them by their number as shown below.

  • ACRYLIC PAINTS: Although any brand will work, we used Citadel paints. The following Citadel colors were used to paint the City Ruin corner: Tin Bitz, Bleached bone.

  • ARTISTS BRUSHES: Small and medium.

- INSTRUCTIONS -
1. Ensure that all parts are glued together before painting.
2. Apply Dulux 2 to all surfaces except the vertical spikes and inside the connection holes.
3. Apply Dulux 3 to the top surface of each floor tile.
4. Apply Dulux 4 to the outside facade as shown above. Use a small brush to carefully apply Tin Bitz to the vertical spikes.
5. Apply a dabbing of Dulux 3 to the outer facade.

6. Apply a dabbing of Dulux 4 to the top surface of the floor tiles.

7. Apply a broad highlight of Bleached bone to the floor tile edges and ladder.
8. Use Bleached bone to highlight most edges, and use the dabbing technique on any open surface to simulate dust.
